Based on the novel by Charles Dickens, The Personal History of David Copperfield centres around the title protagonist, played by Dev Patel Slumdog Millionaire,Lion, and leads us through his unconventional journey from impoverished orphan to blossoming writer and gentleman in Victorian England. From there, Patel narrates a freewheeling variation of the original tale, detailing how his amiable single-parent household that took a rough turn with the introduction of his cruel stepfather Darren Boydwho beats the boy before sending him off to a harsh boarding school. She is secretly in love with Steerforth and blames others such as Emily and Steerforth's mother for corrupting him. Micawber to join Mr. Wickfield Benedict Wongthe trenchant overseer of the Copperfield estate.
So also goes the story of Dan Peggotty relating the sad tale of his niece. This is racial diversity at its most sublime; I wonder why no-one thought of it before. Mrs Markleham- Annie's mother, nicknamed "The Old Soldier" by her husband's students for her stubbornness. But the most direct literary influence is "obviously Carlyle"  who, in a lecture given inthe year of his meeting with Dickens, on "On Heroes, Hero-Worship", and "the Heroic in History",  claims that the most important modern character is "the hero as a man of letters".
She is not unaware of their differences, and asks David, whom she calls "Doady", to think of her as a "child-wife". As such, Copperfield serves as "medium", mirror and also screen, Dickens sometimes subverting his speech to get to the forefront or, on the contrary, hide behind this elegant delegate to the nimble pen. Mrs Heep — Uriah's mother, who is as sycophantic as her son. A third perspective is the point of view of the discerning reader who, although generally carried away by sympathy for the narrator's self-interested pleading, does not remain blissfully ignorant and ends up recognizing the faults of the man and of the writer, just as he also learns to identify and gauge the covert interventions of the author.

By devious means, Uriah Heep gradually gains a complete ascendancy over the aging and alcoholic Wickfield, to Agnes's great sorrow.
Somehow or other, he has managed to touch all familiar elements over consistently delicious minutes without allowing the slightest whiff of compromise.
His madness is amply described; he claims to have the "trouble" of King Charles I in his head. Dick Hugh Laurie, who makes for an amiable nut job. While the concept seems dated, these themes will be relatable to a modern audience, thus giving the film a relevance.
The film is nothing if not brisk. Readers of the beloved classic may, however, be disappointed with the cutting of some major character plots and some missing famous quotes, but this adaptation exudes excitement and energy and will more than makeup for any shortcomings.
Dickens also probed the anxieties that surround the relationships between class and gender. Dickshe takes him in.
The temptation is to fill such a review with hurrahs for the impeccable casting throughout. As he begins speaking, he turns and enters the images projected onto the back of the stage, running into them and across fields in time to attend his own birth, no matter that the medium of cinema is still half a century away from being a reality.
Patel then takes over from the kid, and carries the narrative forward with a similar spirit. News of his death, a day before the emigration, is withheld from his family to enable them to emigrate without hesitation or remorse. David's romantic but self-serving school friend, Steerforth, also re-acquaints himself with David, but then goes on to seduce and dishonour Emily, offering to marry her off to his manservant Littimer before deserting her in Europe.
Patel is Oscar-worthy as David. Murdstone sends David to work for a wine merchant in London — a business of which Murdstone is a joint owner. Iannuci introduces the characters in David's life in a pell-mell fashion and leaves out others.
Other major aspects of the novel, however, were immediately fixed, such as David's meeting with Aunt Betsey, Emily's fall or Agnes's role as the "real" heroine of the story.
